Week 2 ~ Life With Babe ~ 8/8-8/14

We're into week two of August! How are those babies doing??

I was poking through Kaya's baby book last night and had to laugh about how I discovered my sweet baby was making "neck cheese" at the end of week two. I remember catching a whiff of something not to pleasant only to discover that she had some cheese brewing in the folds of her neck. Ewwww... I'll be on the lookout for that this time around.

Nate's 1 week old today.
His cord fell off at 5 days.
He slept like a log next to me last night from 8pm-6am, only snacking a few times.
I took him for his first pediatrician visit yesterday. He started developing some jaundice on day 3. As long as it doesn't get any worse we won't do anything about it. I've been taking him outside when I can though.

We're doing well, except for my slep deprivation. Liam is nursing so well that he had four pees on his first day.

My daughter is adjusting well to her brother. :

I'm in hmo hell over here. I have bill coming in daily and my work has still not processed the boys birth to add them to the hmo : We got two bills yesterday from the pediactrics dept of the hospital for "presence at a high risk birth" $347.99 per child, just to be there : plus the radiology bills and now the dr's office keeps calling for their hmo # so they can bill for the visits they're already had. Plus the need the # so than can make the referal for early intervention. Ugh its such a nightmere

Aaron broke out in spots this morning. Not sure if its infant acne or not. He already had infant acne in the nicu and it looked diffrent. Dominic's screeching has gotten worse. I'm starting to think its his tummy. He's spitting up curded bits even when he's only had breast milk (They're 80%bf). The poor guy just wakes up screeching and nothing seems to make it better. I've been busy when he's done it and not been able to get to him for a few minutes and it stops just as suddenly as it starts.

I think I'm about ready to cry

Oh...hang in there Azreial. I imagine your hands are super full all the time, and then to have stupid insurance crap on top of everything else to think about. Why can't they declare a moratorium for a few months on all paperwork for new mamas??

Little Stella has rashy spots all over, poor thing, but they seem to bother me more than her. And oh boy are my nipples super super sore already. Getting the hang of this latch thing ain't easy! I'm off to the BF forum for help...

I can't imagine how hard it is to take care of more than one baby!
I hope his screeching subsides soon. Would you say it's like colic? Or just related to eating and spitting up?

I think its more from eating, since it seems to be the worst after eating. My oldest was like that he'd scream and scream for hours after eating and spit up so much. He was mostly formula fed, and I tired everything, it was the same with bm too. The poor guy would go through 4-5 outfits a day just from spit up. I hope Dominic isn't going down the same road. I really don't think I could handle 1 constantly screamign baby, another baby, a toddler and an 8 year old :
