Colored FOE problem - help please.

I got some colored FOE in the mail yesterday from sewshoppe.com - brown, red and pink. I was so excited to make a new cover. But when I sewed it around the curves and pulled it to stretch it, it just stayed stretched and didn't bouce back and gather the fabric. :

My white FOE looks thicker and stronger than this colored FOE. Is all colored FOE this wimpy? I'm going to return this stuff because it clearly won't work.

Should I just buy all white and color it myself? Or does anyone know where to get good quality colored FOE?

I used some blue FOE from Chloe Toes yesterday, and it was nice stuff. Very plush and stretchy. Maybe it was just the batch you got? I, too, am curious.:

I've never used coloured FOE, but I have dyed some with Kool Aid and I'm happy with the results. If you don't mind being limited by the Kool Aid colours, you could try that!
