UGH. I just dared to get on the scale, 1 week postpartum. Just like last time, I have lost only the weight of the baby plus maybe 2 pounds. Sure, milk weighs some, but I still always wonder how it is possible to lose so little during birth.

Anyhow, with leftover weight from 2 babies, I've got a lot I want to lose in the coming months/year.

How much do you want/need to lose now that baby has arrived?

Although I haven't yet HAD the baby, I already know that I am in the 40-50 lb zone. This is shocking to me, since I have always been fairly slender (140 lbs, 5'9" before baby)... but now I am up to 187, which is more than my DH! Gulp!! Never thought I would see THAT happen since I gained so slowly at first, but now WHAM... am gaining several lbs a week.

Tucker was born 2 months ago and I still haven't lost any weight. I need to lose 20 lbs. my belly has gone down a lot, but I think that the weight has just redistributed itself to other parts of my body. My maternity jeans and pants are too tight for me to wear now due to my but and thighs getting bigger.

KT&munchkin- I can relate I am 5'10 was 150 and now I am up to 224 : More than DH and my father! Yikes!!! so I'll have about 75 to shed!

Well, I want to loose about 30lbs more. I was heavy for me when I conceived (about 135 and 5'5") and I gained about 40lbs. I've lost 16lbs since I had Elliot on Friday. But, I'd like to get down to 120-125lbs.

After I had ds1, it took about 7 months to get rid of the extra weight, so I'm expecting about the same timeframe this time around.

I have gained about 31 and I plan to lose 31. We will see what my body thinks of this little plan after Croissant is born.:

I gained 35 this pregnancy. a week postpartum I am down about 12.

With DD it took me a whole year to get down to 5 pounds over what I started (the last 5 didn't come off until she weaned)

I will need to loose about 30 to get back to pre-preg. But I was about 15-20 over a healthy weight for me pre-preg, so if I can keep going that will be great. We'll see. At this point I'd just like to have the baby, get started BFing & start w/ gentle walking w/ baby.

I haven't been on a scale since my last prenatal so I don't know how much I need to loose. I'd like to be 150 which at 5' 0" is still overweight I was 176when I got pg (I seem to gain weight nursing : ) and I gained 28-30lbs.

I got down to 138 after DS, which was great for me. I'm 5'8". But by the time we conceived #2, I was up to 153-YUCK. I have gained less weight this time, only 25 versus 40 with DS, so I'm right where I was when he was born. I'd like to get back down to 138. I'm thinking that between bfing and chasing a 3yo plus a newborn, I won't have much time for food. We'll have to support each other through this....

I just need to have the baby now... LOL!

I gained 40 total, and lost 15 with the birth...so 25 to go! I'm in no hurry though, if I could just get used to the jelly belly...how long will that take to disappear??

I'm almost afraid to say this, but by 5 days pp, I had already dropped 20 lbs (out of 30). : Goes to show how much extra fluid I was carrying around! I thought I was awfully swollen. Makes me wonder though how much *actual* weight I gained. Hmmmm.

I'm now down a total of 22 lbs at 11 days pp, so I still have about 8 more to lose to get to my prepreg weight. However, I'd like to be at least 5, maybe 10 lbs lighter than that when I'm done. I had put on a good 10-12 lbs in the 2 years prior to getting pg again. If this time goes like last, nursing should take it all off for me. However, nursing does *nothing* for the flab. I really need to work on that this time. My muscle tone is non-existent.

2 weeks postpartum: lost 5 pounds this week.
Definitely pleased that I'm heading in the right direction. 35-40 more pounds to go!

At 2 weeks pp I am now down 20 pounds. I am sure the last 15 will not be so easy. I so cannot wait to be able to be physically active again. I just ordered my postpartum dvd's.

At 11 days pp, I am down 23lbs. Still have another 17 to loose before I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight. But, I have another 32lbs to get back down to 120 which is where I want to be.

Hopefully once I hit the 6 week mark, I can head to the Y. But, I REALLY hate to leave my babies, even if it's with dh. So, we'll see how that goes when the time comes.

Does your Y have any postpartum classes? Our's has an awesome prenatal and postpartum aerobics class. I don't normally go for that kind of group exercise, but the instructor is really great, and you can bring your babies up to 10 months old to class.

I am in shock. I'll be joining autumnfaery in ducking: when I say I only have 4 lbs to lose to get back to pre-preg weight at 6 days post-partum.
I still have 15-20 to lose to get to my pre-quitting smoking weight though. I've been carrying that weight for 3 years now and I'm hoping that breastfeeding will help me shed some of it.

Krista, ours doesn't have any cool classes like that : We live in a small community and the classes don't go over very well here for some reason. I usually prefer the class format because I'm held accountable if I'm not there (people asking where I've been) and somehow that makes it harder for me to make excuses for not going.

At 10 days postpartum, I am down 13 lbs with 12 more to go -- but if history repeats, I won't be seeing those pounds roll off until Sweet P's 1st birthday :

Anyone else with updates? This thread is encouraging for me, so I thought I'd bump it up.

No more weight loss here - I'm at a standstill of 150lbs right now.
