That's interesting. DH's grandpa's name was Orion, but we never considered using it.

Whew! I'm picky! : Anyone have any ideas?

My dd is Skye Kathryn...I named her

My ds is Christopher Charles...DH named him

DH said I get to name this one, which I feel it's a boy.

If it's a girl, she'll be Tierra Casmire....Tierra is spanish for land/earth. Casmire is a slavic name

Boy??? I always loved Sebastian, but it's becoming so common. Now I'm thinking of Jaden

Really? I've never met a Sebastian before, though by sister's cabbage patch doll was Sebastian. I've seen a number of kids named Jaden (both boy and girl).

I'm bitter about LOST. I think every name that I like (other than Desmond) is on that show. bitter, bitter, bitter. It is going to throw those names into popularity just like Rachel and Emma.

I love looking for names! I have my girl name if that is what we have
Abby Clover, I just love it. NO idea for a boy Have to look yet.

Please tell me what you think:

My DH and I have been tossing around Inanna lately. We both really like it, but are afraid of people mispronouncing it...do you think kids would make fun of it in school? We certainly don't want that, either. It's pronounced EEE-nah-nah. We'd call her either Ani or Noni. It's a Goddess...Queen of Heaven. I especially like it because it contains Anna, which is a family name, but at the same time our DD would have her own name.

I think it's a very nice name. I'm sure about kids making fun of it- kids will make fun of anything though, so don't let that be a deterent.

We have a huuuuge list of names that we are choosing from (We're QF so we hope to use a great deal of them!) The first names we'll use are Ziva Inari for a girl and Jaden Bryce for a boy. Our runners up (and probably kid #2 names) are Zipporah Jane and Asher Nathaniel.

I love the name Sebastian, too, with the nn Bastian. I don't think it's common. OTOH, Jaden is EVERYWHERE. It's one of the new cool names. I think both of your choices are great, just wanted to let you know that Jaden is becoming quite popular, for girls and boys.

I think it's a nice name. If you're going to regularly use a NN such as Ani or Noni, that might be what she uses in school anyway.

Usually, I'm very excited and into names, but this time around, I just feel.......sort of blank, which kind of makes me feel strangely supersticious about the health of my baby, ykwim? I hope wee one is ok.....

Anyway, DH is still liking London. While I like it in some respects, I wonder if she'll get sick of hearing/seeing it everywhere. And also, I heard a radio advertisement for london broil the other day and that kind of made me say, "WHOA! Stop right there with that name!"

Boys.....I just don't know. DH doesn't really like any of my tentative choices. I don't really love any of them either.

Our poor child will probably go by Baby W**** till (s)he's old enough to pick a name.

where I live, in western PA, it seems everywhere I go I hear Sebastian. I go out shopping, at work (restaurant) dr's office, TV....I personally know 2 little boys with that name. I don't know anyone with Jaden. That's ok that it's used for both girl and boys names. Skye is neutral, and I'm glad.

I've heard that a lot of people are naming their babies Jaden. It might not be around much now, but in a few year there'll be two or three in every class. It'll be like Jessica and Jennifer when I was in school.

It's okay though- We plan to use Jay as a nn or call him by his initials- J.B.

Ah, this old thread!

My girl names are still the same, but we're coming up with middle names. We love Edith and Margaret (edie and maggie). I think we could pair both with Grace as a middle name. Grace is our goddaughter's big sister. Our goddaughter is Natalie, so that would be lovely, too. Especially with Edith. Edith Natalie. We also like Edith Lillian. Edith is prime for a 3 syllable middle name, especially since we have a 2 sylable E last name.

We've also beefed up our boy list, since I'm talking myself into the fact that I'm growing a wee lad. So far, we love Henry, but it's too popular. I also love William, but my husband's cousin has a baby William, with our same last name. Ours would go by Billy, though. My dad was a Billy when he was a kid. We also like Oliver a lot. I could definitely see myself with an Olly. Ethan would be nice, but if we ever have our Edith, it'd just be too much e-th in the house. *tears*

And speaking of LOST stealing all the names. Margaret Grace would be a lost actor's name - Maggie Grace who played Shannon. She got killed off, though, and it's just the actor's name, so I think we're safe . bwahaha.

Speaking of LOST, Sawyer is actually one of the only boy names I really love. That and Dawson. Dawson probaby wouldn't work well with Mason, our DS, though. DH has nixed Sawyer.

Grant. I like Grant, also, but one of my very good friends married into Grant. So now her name is J*** Grant. Do you think it would be weird to give my son the same name as a friend's married name? I haven't decided.......

I knooooowwww I used to have Sawyer tucked away as a boy's name option... not any more! I love Lost and all, but they sure know how to take good names and use 'em up, huh?

I keep praying with each new hit TV show that none feature a breakout character with our chosen names! Hopefully now that we've picked them out, though, we'll feel that they already belong to the kid, and the TV is copying US.

Seriously, Sophie Ann and Nathan... erg, need a three-syllable middle name that goes with a single syllable jewish/german last name! I have begun threatening DH that I'll just name him after whatever's around at the time... Nathan Toothpick... Nathan Lampost... etc... or just use a girl name I love and don't get to use! Nathan Sylvia!

Actually, I kinda like Nathan Eliot... hmmm. That just came to me, which is dumb b/c I love the name Eliot... why didn't I put it together as a middle name choice?

Ok, done rambling to myself now!

babycatcher01: I really like Abby Clover! I think that is super sweet!

kdtmom2b: hee hee - Xander Andrew ....that's the problem I'm having w/ a lot of names that start w/ "A"....They have the same sound as the "a" in Xander and makes the name too repetitious. I HAVE to come up w/ an "A" name, though....DH insists on it. :

DS is Sebastian Blaine...when he was born I hadn't heard of any other boys with that name. Now I know a couple IRL...I think it's getting more common but I don't know if it'll be overly used.
If this bean is a boy he will be either Oliver Reid or Oliver Terran (we haven't decided on the middle name yet). Oscar and Elliot are on our list too.
If thise bean is a girl she will be Nora Ellen. I'm partial to Stella Evangeline...but DH likes Nora better. Our other girls names are Ruby and Maisey.
