New momma NIPing all over the place!

So I am the new momma of a 3-week old little angel and I have been NIPing everywhere! It is just a necessity it seems. I mean, what's worse, a momma discreetly feeding her babe, or a hungry baby screaming her head off? We've gone to the mall, out to eat, Musikfest, Merck (haha to visit my mom for lunch- she works there, but is anti-vax if you can imagine). I just love it! My only problem is that I have become dependent on my glamourmom nursing tanks- I bought like 8 of them, which sent me to the poorhouse, but I am a little anxious about trying other shirts, and the nursing bras I have looked at aren't very functional. Any tips? Just wanted to share my bfing experience because I know you ladies will appreciate it. How can people not breastfeed????? It is so easy and convenient. PLus, how the heck does one heat up formula when they are out?

Congrats! On my first big outing with the baby I ended up feeding her for the entire 25 minute bus ride into town on very curvy roads, that made me feel very accomplished.

As for shirts and bras, I like tailored v-neck shirts and dresses, you can easily pull the breast over the fabric and voila. None of the outfits I have like that are officially "nursingwear" either, they're just very comfy and easy to adapt. I have similarly styled "crossover" bras (no underwire) that go along nicely. But then again I find it easier and less of a fuss to pull the whole thing out over the top than to lift my shirt, not everyone agrees.

I personally disliked all the glamour mom nursing tops i got for nursing - my nipple never seemed to be in the right spot when i opened it up and i would have to adjust quite a lot. if i wear them i pull the shirt up from the bottom.

i think any t-shirt tank - anything not too too tight (like glamour mom tops LOL) are great for nursing. I sit baby on my lap and discreetly reach behind her to undo my bra. Then lay her down and pull up my shirt slightly and tuck her under it a bit - so the shirt is down to her face and nothing shows - EZ as can be after a bit of practice! Good luck!

ps - i do have a few loose camis i wear to bed that i like to come out the top on too!!

Great Job! Congratulations on learning it so quickly, too. I wasn't really comfortable NIP until my first baby was 15 months old. But by the time I had baby # 2, it was like old hat. I was at the mall one day when he was a couple months old, found a quiet, comfortable bench a little off the main path, and sat down to nurse. It wasn't until I'd been there a few minutes that I looked up to find several fascinated male eyes looking my way. Turns out, that quiet, comfortable bench was right across from an Army recruiting center! Oh well! So much for picking the perfect place!

I love shelf tanks. They are cheap, and cool when it's hot, and make a nice extra layer when chilly. I usually pop out from the top, but it's easy to lift from the bottom also. YOu can get them at Costco, 2 in a box for 10 bucks.

Another Glamourmom addict here! After a while, I did figure out how to wear a regular t-shirt with a nursing bra and lift from the bottom. I also wear regular shelf tanks and lower which probably puts me in the "whipping it out" group that is being discussed in another thread. I still prefer my Glamourmoms though! I only wish I had eight like you!!!
