I've officially been labeled!

I was talking with someone yesterday (we just moved so I didn't know her very well) when my 6 week old started to tell me he was hungary. I was wearing a tank top so I just pulled it down and started to nurse. She asked me if I planned on "covering that up" as we were in public. I told her no and she said "oh you must be one of those crazy lactivist type women who thinks its okay to pull your boobs out whenever you feel like it." I litterally laughed in her face. I couldn't help it. I rambled something about how I was feeding my child and I have that right. I just thought it was funny. I love the ingnorance of some people. So yes, I have been officially labled as a "crazy lactivist lacy"

I'm glad I've not had any experiences like that. I'd have no idea what to say. I have all the facts and appropriate responses. There'd be so much to spill out that I wouldn't even nowhere to start!

I will never understand why that is sopically acceptable to say. I would never dream of saying to am toher who was mixing formula" you must be one of those uneducated woman who thinks formula is jsut as good as breastmilk" People are so freaking rude!

OMG, I just realized I recently got labeled too! I was asking for advice on my daughter's illness from a mainstream group I belong to, and someone told me I shouldn't nurse, just give pedialyte (to which I said no... that's wrong!) Another woman complained I wasn't just taking the advice blindly, and said I must be one of those, I think her words were.... boobie bangers? Yup. a boobie banger.
