Ha! They have a retail store a little over a block from where I live - I just scoot right past it, just like I do the chocolate store most of the time, knowing that someday I'll end up going in - I remember from one I'd been in years ago that there's some pretty cool stuff in there. Lillian

Are you sure you want to know? Here it is from their website:
The Shop is located in the South Arcade Building - 1411 First Avenue at the corner of Union and First next to the Pike Place Market.
The shop phone number is (206) 623-3440

If you go sometime, you should let me know and we could meet for tea or something. Although I'm leaving within a day or so to drive down to Santa Fe with my son, so I'll be on the road for a while. If you go on a hot day, you should also go to the scupture exhibit that's on the Harbor Steps a block south right now - there are fountains you can walk through, etc.

Funny! I majored in anthropology, and I used to boost my music appreciation scores by doing term papers like "Ethnomusicology of the Pymies of the Mbuti Forest." We had an awful teacher who stood there day after day and talked only about himself - but he'd test us and grade us on stuff we had to learn on our own. He loved my offbeat papers, so I managed to keep my grades up through those. Lillian

Okay, you got me to thinking about this, Honeybeedreams - the way I make a beeline past that store... And I realized that what I was avoiding was going in there and coming out with an expensive shakuhachi flute. That got me to thinking how silly it is to not just go ahead and do it. So I took a break from getting ready for our car trip and went down there with the intention of just going ahead and buying one to take along on the trip. No luck. Couldn't pick out a flute. And there was a lot of noise and chaos in there with all the summer afternoon tourists. So I'm off to Santa Fe fluteless - but it should be a fun place to flute shop. Now back to packing...

I LOVE larkinthemorning.com....

I bought the kids some of those children's REMO drums with the rainforest print and the fibreskin heads... the things are 6+ years old and STILL holding strong against the worst abuse my kids throw at them.

I need to sell something. Lots of somethings. G is sooooo musical. Sigh.

I would love to meet you sometime, though. Wethinks you're awesome!

That is, if you can handle those pesky homeschool families out during the day, wehn the streets should be free of those annoying children.

I have no musical training but I could spend a fortune there! I think I'm in love.
