PPD and Phantom pregnancy

This is my first post on this forum.

Since DS was born 7 months ago I have been on an emotional rollercoster. The story is long and complicated so I will spare you all the details.

Currently my DD is undergoing tests to see if she has epilepsy after having 5 grand mal seizures in one day a few weeks ago.

I had been having a lot of pregnancy symptoms and was and still am pretty sure I am pregnant. These symptoms include fetal movements.

I have taken at least 10 tests and a blood test which are all negative. My dr and health visitor feel that this is a phantom pregnancy connected to my disappointment at DS's birth and immediate post partum period. When I worked out how pg I think I am it matches exactly with DS's dates.

I wish I could understand what was happening to me. I have an appointment with the Dr next week to try to get to the root of the problem.

I think I am going crazy.

Awww Becky, I'm sorry about this. I hope that you are able to get some clarity with the doctor's visit this week. Pregnancy tests aren't always accurate even as the pregnancy progresses but perhaps they will do a quick ultrasound.

All of this stress drains your body of nutrients. Poke around this forum when you are able and look at some of the info on nutrients and PPD. Omega 3s, magnesium, zinc, B vitamins are the big ones. To whatever degree it is possible for you, go back to the basics and work on getting as much sleep as possible and eat as well as you can. I know that these are not always very possible when we are in crisis states but on days that you can manage, work on those basics.
