This is my third pregnancy, and it was a big surprise. It's a long story, but basically I developed a rare medical disorder last year that is still getting resolved -- not an ideal time for me to get pregnant. So now I'm paranoid that there are twins in there. I saw my midwife on Tuesday and she said that my uterus feels bigger than 6 weeks. I should have asked her how much bigger, but I figure it's because my uterus has already been through this twice, and my firstborn was a big one (10 lbs). I'm going to ask her if she ever calls me back, but would love to hear from mamas who are on baby #3 or greater!

Well, I'm on my fifth at about 4 or 5 weeks (?) and I already look about 4 months! Of course, I started out a bit fluffly from my last baby
:
With my third baby, I did get bigger faster. But in the end I didn't get any bigger than with the other two, or gain any more weight. Although, my skin on my stomach did feel more stretched out...I think because he was 2 pounds bigger than the other two!
Congrats!

I am on baby #3 also. I got huge and showed by 12 wks. with number 1 and I didn't get nearly as big with #2 although she weighed more. I am however already starting to pop this time. I'm having a hard time distinguishing what is baby and what is bloat. i think your uterus grows faster with all pregnancies after the first since it has been stretched out before.
Is there any chance you could be off on your due date? That could be a reason for a larger uterus!

I am on baby #3 now, too. I feel bloated, and some pants are feeling too tight (ones that were iffy before), and I am aware of my uterus about half the time. I have a tummy anyways, but it doesn't look bigger. When I roll over, however, I do feel ligament pulls from my uterus.

I'm pregnant with #3 too
:
I get big early, so I expect more of the same this time around. Maybe you're just a little further along than you think you are...right now the baby is super tiny and even if there were 4 of them in there, I wouldn't think that you would notice a size difference in your uterus yet...morning sickness would be worse and you would be a lot more tired than with the other pregnancies you've had.
I'm next in line in my family to have twins (generational thing I guess), so I was worried about twins because my morning sickness came early, but there's only one, I needed proof
Good luck!!! I hope you can rest your mind about it soon

Early morning sickness is a sign of twins???
This is our generation for twins too, and I escaped it four times...
The night before I "knew" I was pregnant, I saw my twin aunts in my dreams. I am nauseas already...at 3w4d.
I really hope it's only one!

I'm pretty sure about my dates -- we were trying to NOT get pregnant, and the only time it could have happened was when I was sure (ha) that I had ovulated days before. Now that I look back, I feel like an idiot. I mean, I've been super-dieting and am nursing a 1-1/2 yo frequently (both of which I'm sure can affect ovulation), and the month before I *didn't* ovulate and had only a 3 week cycle. Why was I thinking I'd be having a normal 28-day cycle?
While I'm excited to be pregnant, I'm very anxious about this medical condition permanently affecting my vision; the only medication isn't compatible with pregnancy. My anxiety over twins is just me looking ahead to the scariest scenarios -- I'm sure there is just one baby in there, and I have to calm down and take things one day at a time!

With my first baby, I didnt start showing until I was like six months, with number two, it was about four, with number three I was in maternity clothes by the second month. And with this baby, even before I confirmed pg. with a test at 11dpo, I couldnt fit into my pants that I just finally was fitting back into! And my xh, who sees me infrequently, said today when I told him that he knew last week, beause I had gotten wide!
Twins run in my family and dh's and my last pg. we had vanishing twin syndrom. Plus, the odds of having twins goes way up at age 37, which I am.
I had said I was gonna wait till Im showing to tell my mom, but at this rate, that may be next week!
That and I may have to ask my stepsister for my maternity clothes back and that will kind of give it away, dont you think? I did get some maternity clothes given to me by a friend, but havent gone through to see what will fit and whats really there yet.
How early do you all think you'll be in maternity clothes? I know with my last baby, I got pg. in april and was in maternity clothes by may!
edited to add: at this rate, if we ever have a fifth, we'll be able to confirm pg. when my belly pops out the second the egg is fertilized!!

I am pg with #4. My clothes are getting tight. Yes I got big faster & BIGGER with each pregnancy. My uterus seems to know what it is doing and makes room QUICK. My the end I have new red "tops" on all my old stretch marks.

I'm pregnant with number 3 also, and at just under 5 weeks I'm wearing my fat jeans. I'm a small gal and the bellly pops early on me every time .
With my second I was in full maternity gear by 6 weeks.
Oh the fun we have. Ah well, in a year we'll be almost back to normal.

well I have only had 2 but I would think you would be bigger much much sooner. I know with #2 I was showing at 9 weeks (not to the world but I could easily see it). I think it gets sooner with each pg, no?
