So, when are you all having your first appointment?

I need to get my scheduled but it looks around the 1st or 2nd week of September. I'll be around 9-10 weeks at that point.

We're having the "getting to know you" meeting with my midwife on Aug 25th. I can't wait!

I have an intake appt (medical history and referral to my OB clinic) this Monday...and then I'll have another one of those in a few weeks. I won't have a REAL OB appt. though until the end of Sept....I'll be around 12 weeks by then. :

I already had mine, but my next one the first week of September and I'll be 9-10 weeks too. We're hoping to hear baby's heartbeat!

I had mine yesterday, my first pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage, so my ob always checks for heartbeat (visual) as soon as he can.

I had an ultrasound and got to see my little bean! So tiny, but I saw his/her flashing heartbeat, it was great! I can get excited now, woo hoo! I have another appointment (the "get naked" one) on the 29th.

Aug 29th. Seems like forever away

My first appointment will most likely be in october. I used the same homebirth midwife last time and she doesnt really do appointments until you are at least 12 weeks. I will have an u/s at some point so I guess I will have to see an ob but I just want to do 2 appointments total. I wish I could just call and schedule an ultrasound. I am thinking I might make an appointment with an ob for around 16 weeks. My midwife works underground so to speak so she cant order one.

My midwife is my friend, so I see her all the time anyway

Officially, I guess I'll start around 12 weeks...

I havent scheduled one yet. Im planning on calling tommorow. Last time, when I knew this early, my ob did nothing by confirm with u/s (dont know why) and sched. me for the next month. He wouldnt run any tests or do bloodwork that early "just in case".:

I transferred to a midwife halfway through and at my last annual found a new ob, one who said they do not put babies in warmers if mom prefers to hold baby under a blanket because afterall, she didnt want HER baby taken away at birth either! (LOVE it, the practice has three women, all who have kids and are adding a midwife this summer!!)

"Last time, when I knew this early, my ob did nothing by confirm with u/s (dont know why)"

To answer your question...money. They get to charge your insurance for an ultrasound.

Sorry if that sounded snarky.

My first app't is next week, Aug. 17. I won't quite be 6 weeks so I don't know if we'll see a heartbeat yet. But I hope so...

I had my first appointment last Friday, and will go in again Tuesday to make sure the BV they found is all cleared up. Then I have my first ultrasound on the 29th (for dating, since they wouldn't just believe me that I ovulated later than day 14... though I'm excited to have one to ease my worries that much more - I didn't realize I'd get to see the heart beating!).

I called this morning and will go in Aug. 31st. I'll be just shy of seven weeks then.

And yeah, I guess money was a reason for my last ob to confirm with u/s. I mean, bloodtest worked just fine with my first two. If not for that first u/s, I would have never known that my last pg. started out as twins. (the next month, there was only one).

I already posted that mine won't be until late Sept...well my first real, be seen by the doctor, have an ultrasound one. Anyways, I kept thinking that that's a really long time to wait, condsidering I've had 2 m/c, one at 16 weeks. So I called our OB case manager and explained it to her and she said she certainly understood that and would get me in as soon as I got my referral over to the OB clinic!!! And she said we'd go ahead and do a dating ultrasound, since we're not sure exactly when I'm due because I got pregnant coming off of BC. Woohoo for health care professionals that actually take you and your feelings seriously!!!

Well i had my first appointment yesterday. nothing crazy, just some blood and urine samples. she also checked if my uterus was enlarged. she said it was which isnt good, but i didnt feel any pain which made her a little more reliefed. i go next week for an OB orientation which lets me get to know my doctor and ask any questions. then the real real appointment where i get to get a sonagram is on the 30th of this month. how exciting!

I will have my first appt on Monday Aug 14th.

SInce I have hyper-emesis and I already have a great relationship with my midwife so I am looking forward to getting to see her again.

I have no clue! I have flippin Kaiser and no one's calling me back to set up an appt. I am diabetic and my regular MD wanted me seen right away because I am taking a medication that's not technically supposed to be used during pregnancy. I probably need insulin, and need it ASAP. I wish they'd call me back. :

Had "get to know you" consult Wednesday with midwife.

Going to Primary Care Physician (whom I have never even seen before!) for referral Tuesday so insurance will pay my midwife!

Initial appt. with midwife scheduled for Thursday.

There's no way I could wait until 10-12 weeks, I am so excited to start seeing a midwife!!!

The place I'm considering using for my prenatal care, a birthing center, does not schedule first appointments until weeks 10-12. I thought that was a bit late...after all, I wanted to make sure all my hormone and blood levels are where they should be at this point, but she explained over the phone that since it's my first pregnancy, I cannot be considered "high risk" since I've never had any problems with a pregnancy before (true, I guess, I've never been pregnant before), so there's really no reason to see me before that time. I'm supposed to go on a tour of the facility next Wednesday evening...not sure about it...I guess going won't hurt.

I'm also going to call an OB's office that was recommended in the Tribes area of MDC...that OB (it would then be a hospital delivery...not sure how I feel about that) is closer to home. I'll call Monday and see when is the earliest they see someone.

I'm a little worried b/c I don't have any symptoms anymore really....I know they can come and go, but still...
