Cub Scouts and Waldorf

How does your school handle Cub Scouts or do they even allow the boys to participate? My son is in a pack with several other kids in his 1st grade class. The teacher seems to be pretty anit-cub/boy scouts. Has anyone else run into this?

I have to say, that as a former Girl Scout, I find the Boy Scouts of America's National organization to be disturbing but the local Pack is great and the boys really enjoy it.

What I don't understand about waldorf teachers is that so many of them seem to have the idea that they get to have a say in everything their students do. Of course, this is not their job or even their right. They are not the parent and don't need to be "consulted" for everything the child might be involved with.

Yes, I have run into this with Girl Scouts. I just told the teacher "I'm sorry you don't like it but dd does and it works for our family so we will be involved until dd wants to stop." End of story! Good luck!
