Help, chipped tooth causing me pain . I think?

I'm confused a bit, BF has been going great, I never want to stop He is almost 11 months and has 8 teeth 4 tops 4 bottoms, the only time I notice any real discomfort is when he is teething(you all know what I mean)but this time I cannot tell if he is teething again or if it is his chipped front tooth, he must have chipped it when he fell or something, he's been in the pull up on furnature and walk along it for about 1.5 months now. This pain is like a kinda scraping on my nips, like I said maybe he is teething, maybe his chipped tooth is scraping me. Anyone else had an experience like this? Anything I can do about it? I really think the dentist is outta the question, I would rather put up with the pain, well it's more of abit of irritation than pain, than take him to the dentist. Thanks

I did.. -At 9 months when my DD started to walk --she fell and chipped her tooth on the bathtub.. It scraped my boob when she nursed-- We took her to a pediatric dentist and he smoothed it out. He was very gentle with her..now her tooth is just fine!! Good LUck

I would go to the dentist. My dd chipped a tooth at aroun 16 or 17 months. We took her to the dentist only to find out that she has soft enamel, and has required regular dental care since then. I wish we had taken her before the chipped tooth, because at 18 months she had to have dental surgery, which included several fillings, caps on the front teeth and one pulled tooth.

I won't lie to you, it ain't going to be fun, but it will be worth it to go the dentist now. Best case scenario, your son's teeth are fine, and dentist smooths out the chipped one. Worst case, enamel problems, but you catch them now, while you can still do something about it. If you go, I recommend Rescue Remedy starting the night before to make the baby more calm for the visit.
