Last Minute Weight Gain

Boo. I had gained about 32 lbs at most and then things leveled off and I even went down a pound for a few days. But between the weekend last through this week into today I have gone up to 38 lbs. What the hell?!?!?!
Is this a problem do you think? I wouldn't really be concerned if it had been over a length of time but don't people generally stop gaining weight at this point? I am due in 2 days!
And no, I am not really swollen at all.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I had levelled off - even lost a pound - from my 37wk to 38wk visit. Then, when weighed at my 39wk visit, I had gained an astonishing 5 pounds. In a WEEK. I actually cursed out loud. The nurse assured me it was water weight (though my fingers and ankles aren't swollen). She told me not to worry about it this time, just don't do it again. Um, ok? I didn't do anything differently from week to week.

Then again, I gained weight pretty steadily throughout my pregnancy.
Maybe a little TOO steadily - I gained 50 pounds. :

I hadn't gained any weight between 33 weeks and 37, then boom, gained 3 pounds in a week. Can't quite figure out how since I don't really feel like eating and I am not swollen at all.

My midwife doesn't care but I DO!!! And if this kid goes another week I am going to be a heffelump!!!

Oh mama, easier said than done, but don't worry! I didn't gain at all between weeks 33-39, then I gained 3lbs! (In one week!!) I delivered 2 days after that.

I went in for my 38 week visit and weighed in at 174. At 37 weeks I weighed 168 and at 36 weeks I weighed 170. I am not swollen or anything and I really thought I had been eating less this past week. I don't know why the weight gain is funny, but you're not alone.

It's good to see this thread! I was shocked today that I had gained 3 pounds in a week. I was doing pretty good (30-35 lbs) until now!
