Diapers and Elastic and Stuff

So, I want to make my own diapers but I'm NOT a pro at the sewing machine and I want to do these as easily as possible.

I have FuzziBunz right now and like them enough to copy them a bit - but without the leg elastic and backside elastic (they leave red marks on my kids).

Will they still fit okay? To you HAVE to have the gathers and the elastic to contain messes?

I don't think you can do it without elastic. However there are multiple brands out there. I make mine with swimsuit elastic and I've never had a red mark like I use to get with fuzzibunz (on DS). I found that I make mine like happy heinys using the microfleece to "roll" around the legs. Never had a leak or red mark..

Aplix is cheaper to invest in that snaps unless you have someone put the snaps in for you.
