? about classes offered by hospitals

I know I am way ahead of myself here, but I cant help but think ahead!!! I am planning a hba2c but someone mentioned something about sibling classes at hospitals... I remember when DD was born I thought DS was too little for that, but now I think they both could be into it...

Is it possible to sign them up for a class without being registered at the hospital?

Yes....my daughter took the sibling class at APH and we had a homebirth .

I wouldn't do any other classes at the hospital since they are all about how to "obey" them but the sibling class was nice.

you should be able to do it but I would check into what they discuss. In my experience (as a nurse) most sibling classes discuss some basic how to treat baby type topics and thing focus on a tour of what they will see at the hospital. You could probably teach them most of what they need to know about how to treat a newborn and save yourself some money.

The one at the hospital in my town when pg with DS was free and open to everyone regardless of where you were going to birth. They also had a lot of books and videos to help the sibling prepare.
