G was born a few weeks early on August 12. He weighed in at 3#5 oz.
I had severe pre-e and instead of taking a wait and see approach, it was decided to induce. The hospital staff surpassed all my expectations (I set the bar very high and they worked and listened to me). He is holding his own and thriving on mom's milk.

Afolabi "A.J." Lawal, Jr.

Mon, Aug 28, 6:53 a.m. (EST)
37.4 Weeks Pregnant
7lbs 2oz, 19.5"
Total labor: 7.5 hours (pushing 20 minutes)

I felt the first round of back pains around 11 p.m. on 8/27, I went back to sleep. My water broke at 1:30 a.m. Contractions were right on top of another. Arrived at the hospital at 3:00 a.m. with back labor, quickly requested an epidural at 4 cm dilated. By 5 a.m. I was 7-8 cm. Just after 6:30 the lights were turned on to prepare for pushing...AJ arrived at 6:53 a.m.
Everyone was wonderful. Luckily, I only had a little inside tear...so recovery was rather quick. I've been busy with my little one ever since.

Best wishes to all!

Trinity Noelle was born Sept. 12th at 9:25 AM.

Labor only lasted around 9 hours really, with a really fast progression at the end! And I did it with no epidural {but did end up having a single dose of Demorol for back spasms during labor}

She is healthy and doing great, and very happy the the milk factory is begining to work

Water started leaking Sept. 11/06 around 10pm, first contractions started 42 hrs later Sept.13/06 around 3pm. Very mild and irregular at first but things progressed quickly after that. I was admitted into the hospital around 5pm at 3cm dilated when my membranes were fully ruptured. The pace picked up and by 9:30pm I was ready to push. Ella Ann was born around 9:48pm at 6lbs, 13ozs and 20 inches long. My *due date* was Sept.15/06 so she came 2 days early. I had one tiny tear that was too small to stitch. This was a vaginal birth after 2 Caesarean's (VBA2C) so I am quite proud of my achievement and that I did with no pain meds, 100% au naturel!

Teddy is here!

Edward Eric Ezekiel
Born Monday 9/18, 9:17 pm
8 lb 4 oz, 20 inches long
Gestation: 42w 1d
Labored: 18 h, walking, in bed, on birthing stool
Pushed: 4 hours, semi sitting in bed, all fours/hanging from bed
Meds: Cervidil Sunday night @ 9 (?) pm, early labor started 2:30 am; Pitocin started after 2 1/2 hour stall at 6 cm, turned up twice (I think)--first time when pushing stalled after 2 hrs. No pain meds except novocain afterward while they stitched a small 1st degree tear, though half the stitches were outside the novocain (his hand was under his chin).

He is beautiful!!
And you CAN have a fantastic birth no matter what extra tools you and your mw decide TOGETHER to use. (yes, there is life after pitocin! )

Theodore Jacob arrived September 21, at 9:53 pm.
7 lbs 15 oz, 21 5/8 inches
40w + 5

He burst into the world after a 5 hour labor and less than 10 minutes of pushing!
And big brother seems to think he's okay to keep.
