Hi mamas!

For anyone who has made homemade beanbags for your kiddies to play with, what have you filled them with? Rice? Sand? something else? What would you suggest?

Thanks!

Hugs,

polar fleece scraps! I have lots sitting around from my endeavours, and it makes a great, light and fluffy, yet substancial stuffing.

Whatever I have enough of in my pantry that day. I've used beans and rice.

I made these for my guy for Christmas one year. I just bought whatever was on sale at the grocery store. I think we ended up black beans. I probably wouldn't use sand because they may leak through the stitching, and eventually sand turns to dust and may start to seep through the fabric. Beans worked great.

I use plain old lentils. They're cheap and small and smooth, they feel nice inside a fabric sack.

I usually replace any beansack that has polyethelyne beads because I worry about the chemical exposure when the beads rub together. I know, I'm a little nutzy about things like that
