OT a bit here but relevant in a way

I wasnt sure were to put this really it could fit in a few different forums but since here is the place I visit the most I figured I would run it by you all.

I was thinking about the physicals kids have to have here every year to go to school and was wondering do they always have to check the testicals during the exam? Frankly I am afraid to let anyone near my ds's penis after having 2 different dr try to retract him even after I said not to. Yes I am paranoid and it isnt something I have to worry about really for years other than his check up once a year (if I decide to take him) I know I can refuse anything that I am not comfortable with but I would just like to know how important it is for them to check the testicals like that? If it would possibly cause harm to ds if they didnt and he had a hernia or something.

oh boy.
In this country that would be called 'sexual assault'.

they do that? really? no way. why does someone need to mess about *down there*? How is that a 'physical'?

again. I can't get over it.

They check the testicals to make sure both are down, they also check for hernia's. I want to make sure my ds is healthy but I dont want to risk them trying to retract him again altho I am more prepaired than I was before. I have got my ICA an the AAP care guide ready.

Here if the testicles aren't down after about 1 year they fix em. And if you don't know about a hernia it's not a problem.
Wierd i say. plain wierd.

Amazing how different things are here in the USA from other countries. Makes me wish I lived over there with you

LOL I'm sure you'd find some things wierd here too my dh is a doctor. He suspects over servicing. YK pivate heathcare 'n all. With Medicare here most things have a cost/benefit analysis built in. THat's why circ isn't covered. Not cos it's cruel and unnecessary. OK maybe a bit cos it's cruel and unnecessary but mostly cos of cost.

after about his one year check up, our doc doesn't even ask to see under his diaper, much less poke around there, and I am in the US, midwest even. I found a doc I love. At his last appt, she looked toward his diaper and said, "you want me to look ... nah, any questions about any of his parts?" or something like that, it was so uneventful, it doesn't really stick out.

so, I don't think it's NECESSARY to have them look/poke around looking for hernias.
