What an awesome forum! I am really glad to have found it, even though I am trying to cut back on my net time.
I was very dedicated to my art until I had my daughter at 21, single and living back at home with my parents (aack!) Of course with needing to work and all that goes along with single motherhood, art fell by the wayside. I've been with DP about two years now, and he inspired me to go back to my art. I entered a piece in the State Fair (the first I've done in about 5 years), I threw away my nursing school acceptance letter, and enrolled in art foundations classes. I'm planning to go for a BFA - I am nearly in shock from all the changes, in a good way...
Anyway, I am so glad to have somewhere to talk to other crunchy artist mamas! It's not always easy to find that kind of community locally, and I am sure I'll have plenty to post as the semester gets underway.
Here is a link to the piece I entered in the fair - it's prismacolor pencil... http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...a/DSC01410.jpg
