I just want to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to you. There are days when I feel like nothing I do matters, like I can't possibly be making a difference, like people just don't care. Then I come here and watch the transformation you've made. The journey from your very first post to some of the later things you've posted is amazing. Thank you for allowing us to see it. And thank you for opening up yourself to learn about it. Every time I read a post of yours now, I'm nearly in tears (happy tears). From "you won't get me to say it was a mistake" to comparing it to FGM, in just a few days is remarkable.

I too am really amazed and thrilled for you! You're a very caring mother, and the way you've turned your thinking around is a testament to your love for your son. What a strong, tough woman you have been, to stay here and examine all the evidence, which runs contrary to everything you've ever known. And now you're right in the thick of it, giving advice to those who come here and can benefit from your experience! Thank you for giving us a chance.

I am a see it to believe it type...
seeing my little boy having the skin ripped back off his glands made me sick to the stomach.. now that i see the after math and he's old enough to tell me how much it hurts, i can't even IMAGINE how much it hurt him to have the initial circ done.

I really wish i would have known that babies do feel pain and the other things i know now...

I can't believe how many people lied to me (doctors), and im slowly letting my mom know what im learning ( even though she can't have kids anymore ) just so that she doesn't try and tell someone else what she was told when she had my brother.

I also wanted to say that I have read your posts but didn't respond because I'm still learning a lot and these folks around here blow me out of the water with their knowledge. I learn something every time they post.

I am so upset about what that doc did to your son. I was in tears last night reading about it. Poor little guy.

YAY!! I too (i've been lurking ALOT!!) thought you were going to be a hard case!! I'm so glad that you've found it in your heart to open up and learn. I know you said that this was your one and only, but you can still make a HUGE difference as an intactavist. It not only means not circumcisiong any others you may have, but saving the next generation.

I know that you yourself are not having any more children, but you can help prevent this happening to other boys by just simply talking about it with your pregnant friends. I popped bumper stickers on my car as a conversation starter, and it does wonders.
