Need Help - Making a Pocket Diap w/ VB

I am making a pocket diaper with flannel and suede cloth (I like fitteds) and using the VB pattern. My question is - should I sew the back elastic to both layers or just the suede cloth?

Is your flannel the outer and your suedecloth the inner? Because i modified a dipe and i put the elastic only on the outer (which for me was flannel). Then i could tuck the inner in around the absorbant insert (like i do with my fuzzi bunz). hope that makes sense

That's ingenius! But isn't the back elastic supposed to help keep in poo? How does not having it against the skin work out for you?
