Just so you don't think I'm super cheap...

Any ECers who read the now closed thread about the point of cloth diapering...

I just wanted to say that the BB potty chair retails for 47.95 in Canada. Not cheap.

WHAT!!

I couldn't find the Little Potty here at all . . . it is $9.00 online though (and even with shipping it only cost me $13.95, I think).

YIKES! I wouldn't even think twice about buying it at that price - it would be a for certain!!

There is a difference between the BB Potty Chair ($21.99 in the US) and the BB Little Potty $9.95 (which my 8 month old uses!).

I think that where the confusion is!

edited to add: Our local BabiesRUs, which used to only sell the $22 Potty Chair, just started selling the LITTLE Potty too! Yay!

HTH!

Which do you recommend? Little Potty or Potty Chair? I was going to head out to the store for one this morning, but DD fell asleep just as I was going to get ready. So I am glad I popped on here to find out what they are supposed to cost.

DD is almost 15 months, so I know we might have an uphill challenge to ECing at this point, but I want to give it a go. I think it would be much easier if we had a potty, since so far she has hated me holding her over the toilet, sink or tub. But I did finally catch one pee yesterday! And she is sleeping diaperless right now, so we are making little baby steps!

I like the $10 Little Potty. My son is 20lbs, and 8 months old, and he can comfortably sit on this one.

I guess it depends on your DD. Take her along and sit her on both, and see if the $10 one is OK, or if she needs a bigger one.

I can't get the Baby Bjorn shop page to load. Does it list a Canadian distributor for the little potty?

I just found a Canadian distributor for the little potty.
Total cost of potty plus shipping and federal sales tax: $25.63.

If interested, check out little potty

Well, I got the Little Potty. So far she doesn't like it, but I am hoping that she warms up to it!

Kenny wasn't thrilled with it until I placed it on a no-slide mat on the vanity counter so he could watch himself in the mirror (or watch mommy/daddy). Now he loves it.

Not to beat a dead horse, but, man the little potty is expensive in Canada. I just went to a store that sells it for 29.99 (34.50, provincial and federal sales tax included).

Heather, is a no-slide mat the same kind of mat you'd put in a bathtub to prevent slipping? Your little trick might be the answer to my prayers.

Yep, the same no-slip. Depending on the width/depth of your counter, you may have to cut it to form. Easy to clean up too! I hold him up there with his back leaning against me (head basically between my breasts) and my left and right arm under his arms on both sides, holding the potty with my hands at the front center (near the splash guard). That way he doesn't fall side to side, can relax back and do his thing.

I tell you - I don't think the "Little Potty" is necessarily the only great potty out there - it just fits his body well. He can firmly place his feet on the counter and I think he feels like a big li'l man.

Dodo - where in Canada are you? I've seen it in Toronto for around $16-17 Cnd. If you are anywhere close to TO I can tell you where to find it.

I've been meaning to pick one up for my dd. She uses her big brothers potty fairly well, but if she pushes herself too far forward on it she pees all over the floor!

The BB little potty fits great but when I dump it, pee and poo goes everywhere on the part she sits on. What do you clean it with? I'm afraid this part will keep dh from being pro-ec, because it is rather messy- more so than a diaper.
