How do I know if my buttermilk has gone bad?

I made it from raw milk...it has gotten thicker and thicker since I made it about 3 weeks ago. It does have a distinct smell but not a puke your brains out kind of smell. And it's now really thick, like yogurt, kinda of gooey mucousy like. It doesn't taste bad though.
What do you think? Keep it or chuck it?

I think if it doesn't smell bad and you still like it, it is probably fine. Sounds like the texture would be hard to get used to though so I would probably just use it for baking.
