NT-Friendly Peach Pie Recipe???

Good MOrning!

My "new-to-eating the NT-way 'cause he now lives with us" 19-yr old nephew has requested a peach-pie...having NEVER had one in his entire life!

I have home-canned peaches. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

There is a recipe for pie crust, I believe, in the NT book. You could make that crust, then make a filling out of your peaches. I'll probably do that with my fresh ones.

Something like add a 1/4 -1/2 cup honey, some seasonings like cinnamon, nutmeg, mace, or cardamom, maybe a bit of water if there isn't enough juice.

I often look at recipes in my mainstream cookbooks for ideas, then adapt that to a more NT-friendly dish. Can you tell I cook by the seat of my pants (or rather the yum of my tastebuds!).

Good luck, let me know how it comes out!

the pie crust recipe in NT is just a regular pie crust recipe, she even uses white flour! Just don't use Crisco to make it, hehe

I have heard half butter, half lard makes the best, flakiest crust.
