Hypnobirth suggestions and doula involvement

Hi all! I'm due in December and just getting started on practicing hypnobabies and hypnobirthing. Almost everyone I have spoken to so far has said that the method has really helped them for their natural labor and delivery. I'm wondering if anyone has any practical experience with this method and can give me some tips and/or suggestions on how it worked for them.

Also, I've hired a doula as well and she has no experience yet with anyone who has tried this method. Any suggestions for her? Thanks much!

Are you doing hypnobabies.com hypnobabies or hypnobirthing? There is a difference. The hypnobabies program is great. My sister did it and had a beautiful birth. She felt all the sensations of birth but they were felt as pressure and she was so relaxed that wasn't painful. She had her baby sunnyside up and was smiling as the head came out! I am planning on using it for my Feb. birth. Good luck

hypnobabies v hypnobirthing

Well I bought the hypnobirth book by Mongan and a friend is giving me her hypnobabies CDs and book - the home study course I believe. I think she got it from hypnobabies.com. I heard the hypnobabies method involves the birth partner more than the other method. Anyway, I was going to try both and see what works best for me.

Hypnobabies is self hypnosis where as hypnobirthing is deep relaxation. You should call Kerry, the founder of hypnobabies, or email her, she is very helpful.
