At What Age Do They Qualify?

My ds's went to a "Pre-teen" skate party with our church. The invitation said for kids in the 4th grade and up. They are 9 & 10 years old... are they considered to be pre-teens already? Since that day they keep asking me and I tell them that I thought it started at age 12

Please someone tell me that my babies are NOT pre-teens already

ill say no to make you feel better! but technically they are PRE-teens because...well...they are younger than the teen years.

I tend to think of the pre-teen years as 10-12, but who the heck knows anymore lol.

I always thought once they hit the double digits (10,11,12) but before they hit the suffix "teen", they were pre-teens.

Are you kidding?? Okay here come the tears! My baby is a pre-teen already... OMG?!! Well, I don't know what I was thinking... he starts middle school next year!
