Hi everybody,
First of all, thanks for all your help and encouragement. You are such wonderful resources and have really kept my spirits up when other people just don't understand why I wouldn't want to just give up and start him on formula from a bottle.
We just got back from the LC. She says he's got a great latch and she saw him sucking and swallowing too. She weighed him before and after and he really only gained an ounce. What she figured out the problem was is that after the initial easy flow of milk, he's not sucking hard enough to get more. So she gave me a Haberman feeder to help him to learn to suck harder. She also let me take home a Lactina to try to get better stim for my breasts. So now the plan is to nurse, feed him with the Haberman, then pump to get more milk to feed him and to increase my supply and repeat that every 3hours. She said it will take a couple days to see a difference so we'll see how it's going by Friday. She did say that I may have to give him a little formula (only 1/2oz) if I can't get an oz of my milk to feed him these first couple days. I'm still torn about that, but I can't keep letting him not eat enough.
Thanks again mommas!
