Tomatoes not turning red

First time garden poster here with tomatoes that are not turning red I'm in Washington - not sure what zone that is. My plants have lots of green tomatoes on them that have been there for weeks now. Only a small handful of the grape tomatoes have turned red. The garden is in full sun and gets plenty of water. Is there something I'm not doing or am I just impatient? Thanks!!

maters

hi there!
mine here in New york were late in turning red this year too. i think it was our late wet spring that held them back.

you can always fry up those green tomatoes, but patience will be rewarded!

next two weeks you'll wonder what to do with all those tomatoes!

good luck

OHHHHHHHHHHH

I DO know you! :

Anyway, most of mine are still green. A friend of ours' plant is five times the size of mine and it's fruits are still green too. I think we have to wait some more.

mine are all still green too (in Lynnwood), so are my aunt's and she's down in Sumner. On the other hand, my grandpa's tomatoes are all huge and red (grandparents live in Walla Walla, my grandma brought some over last week). I guess we just have to be more patient on this side of the mountains...

OK, I'll try to wait I was just worried that they'll never turn red since our *hot* temps are not constant - not that I mind that exactly, just not ideal for some plants. Might have to fry some in the meantime... Thanks for all the replies!

We just got our first red one and it was one that broke off the vine early.

Tiny green tomatoes that are left at the end can be pickled too!
