So, my Dh and I spent a couple months decluttering our house from top to bottom, and I do mean every cupboard, drawer, shelf, and box in every room of the house.
We cleaned everything as we went, storing what we didn't want in a room in our basement, then we priced it all and hauled it upstairs for a two day garage sale. The first day, we made $550!
We can really use the money, but more than that, our house is decluttered.
We hope to sell a few more things, then most of what's left is going to consignment shops, then we're inviting friends to come take what they want, then the rest will go to Goodwill.
If anyone is wanting to declutter, it's so worth it to do it; and, for us, we actually enjoyed much of the process--once we finally got started.
