Satanists don't believe in satan either, do they I thought they didn't.

I'm completely LMAO rereading this thread after not looking at it for a couple weeks. Some funny stuff especially the other comments about )0(.

Someone other than me picked Scientologist, but no post from them. Oh well, I'm here to represent!

I find this thread really interesting too. I've learned alot in the past few minutes!

Ada... I didn't post because it was kind of obvious to many of the others that it was probably me... at least to me it was obvious... but yep, I'm the other Scientologist that voted.

I'm glad to know you're here, Cassie!

I was really excited to see that another Scientologist voted. And pretty freaken impressed that Scientology made it onto the poll, too! I feel so acknowledged

Second order: I picked Christian- other. I'm not Catholic and I don't really identify as Protestant and I don't really identify as non-denominational either. Hmm...I seem to have a problem with labels!

Pagan/Buddhist (Puddhist?)

Anton LeVay Satanists do not believe in a literal satan. Symbolic only.

If I had to identify (I wish wish wish you just had a general "spiritual"), I would identify as UU because it encompasses basically whatever I want, yk?

My daughters godfather is a satanist and this sort of reflects what he is. He calls himself a Logical Satanist. He's told me that when asked what faith on a questionaire he puts athiest if it's an option. As his belief is self worshiping and he does not recognize Satan as even existing.

Puddhist! I was talking to someone some time ago and we were discussing the challenge of being someone who practices two or more faiths, having to explain it, people not getting it, etc. In our convo was that we wish it was easier to name it. Like being an "ecc Wiccan and Buddhist with a love for the teachings of Jesus" could be "Wicajebuddhist" and so on. We were being about 97% silly but your post reminded me of it lol.

Kim,

Since I know that reading 7 pages of posts can be time consuming, and it only takes 10 seconds to type it:

)O( is a symbol for Pagans for the phases of the moon/women (Goddess). It represents the waxing (maiden times of our lives), full (Mother), and waning (wise old crone)...HTH

I have to admit I thought )O( was UU with a breast reduction given the beginning of this thread. Glad to have it explained.

I voted:

Judaism-- Because I'm a Jew by birth, and I identify that way, for the most part.
Pagan/ Earth-based-- Because that's probably closest to what I actually believe.
Other-- Because the life I'm living really doesn't reflect my religious/spiritual beliefs at this point, and I think that it's kind of hypocritical for me to need a "but" when I explain my religion. When people ask me what I am, I usually say, "I'm not sure right now." I'm working to change that, because it's making me ill.

My husband is a Liberal Quaker; he only found out a year and a half ago, but he's actually been a Quaker for a lot longer than that. Rarely have I seen a person looking for a religious affiliation find a group that fits *so* perfectly.

I am a lifelong Pagan currently exploring UU. The group with which I'd been practicing for 13 years fell apart due to a messy divorce between two prominent members, so we're looking for a new religious home. I am frustrated by the lack of real stable community in the Pagan "community," and wanting something for my daughter like what I had as a child-- genuine multigenerational community. A "church" of some kind seems called for.

I voted Other.

Liberal Quaker.

Neat Poll!

Update: I found out what I am! I'm a Chaos Mage. Cool, huh? Now I know where I belong-- it definately falls under "other."
