90% Bamboo 10% Nylon Flat Folds!

Ok, I just HAD to share!!

I wanted to get some plain ol' flats made with bamboo, and finally found a site in the UK that sells them. The "Babeco" company makes them. I just got them Sat. (took one week). I paid about $35.00 USD, including shipping for 10 of them. Kinda of expensive, but not when compared to a nice hemp/cotton flat, but either way, let me say this...

OMG I'm totally in love with them already!!! They are a 'french terry' knit style, but the 'knit' feels silky soft and the nylon 'binder layer' gives them a bit of stretch. They will so snuggle and conform to a newborn's bum, that I can hardly wait to put them on the new baby!! They really are just SO SOOO soft!

I haven't found a co op with the 90/10 bamboo/nylon terry knit weave yet, so that's why I went ahead and ordered them, plus they are already cut out and serged (and that's bonus for me, atm).

I'm thinking they will make super absorband 'stuffers' when she's older for when I'm planning on having her in pocket styles...geez...I might make momma pads from them, they REALLY are soft and absorbant. Washed and dried up beautifully! Plus they won't get 'stiff' like hemp!

I want more of this fabric!! If you got the $$ and want something like this, I give it a 100% stamp of 'mom' approval!

Here is the main site address:

http://www.babeco.co.uk/

And the page with the bamboo flats and a fitted they sell:

http://www.babeco.co.uk/BabecoBamboo.html

I've washed and dried them twice so far in my normal 'hot' water cycle and they are still 'square' (unlike birdseyes which shrink and get rectangular and make some of the unique diaper folds harder to do) and are so soft and fluffy!

My 2 year old wants to use them now, rather than his Fuzzi Bunz! I told him they are for the new baby, but maybe I'll play with a larger 'toddler' fold for him to try one for a few hours.

The 50x50 cm size is about 20x20 inches and makes a nice newborn to young baby size (and then a super trim, absorbant stuffer/doubler). The 60x60 cm size is more for toddlers and large babies.

Here is a great page with like 15 different ways to fold a flat!!

And my favorite is the 'oragami, bikini fold' from fern and fairie:

I looked and looked online for local *U.S.* bamboo flats (didn't find any), and even fitteds were hard to find and pretty expensive or made from velour or other stuff. The co-op I found was not doing the 90/10 blend, so I decided to just buy some, and for 3.50 USD (shipping included in that cost) each, they are about what you pay for a nice hemp flat.

I hope you love them as much as I do! It took about a week from order to receive date.
