old couch

i'm wondering if anyone has creative ideas for covering an old couch. i'm using a quilt right now but it keeps sliding off the couch and looks all messy. any ideas on how to keep it put? i tuck it into the cushions and sides, but that doesn't help much. i thought about buying a slip cover, but i don't know if one would be worth the cash. does anyone have a slip cover that they love? this is kind of a small couch compared to many of the modern styles. thanks so much for the input!

ETA: I should've mentioned I am hesitant to buy a slip cover because it might not fit.

Sew some Velcro to both the couch and the blanket so it will stop falling off. I would use a generous strip so to make sure one large sit-down-plunk won't rip it right off. That's my vote.

Surefit has measurements on their site. Hope you find something that works.

I saw some
surefit slipcovers at BigLots for really cheap. Maybe check out the measurements at their site and then, try to find an inexpensive one (Ebay, BigLots, Craigslist or even Freecycle). Good luck.
