Yes! A stool is great. I used to use the Fisher Price activity table, but maybe I can commission my dh to make one this time.

So...maybe I should start a thread on this, but just wondering if there are any other ideas for baby warmth. Wool's just not my thing, I can't take the smell, and it's so high maintenance.:

Sling (maya wrap)
Wrap (Ellaroo and a few stretchy wraps)
Pouch (mesh for shower, fleece for the cold air, cotton for inside)

Receiving blankets

Nursing pillow

BBLP

Kokkoon for the carseat (so no snowsuits)

Bouncing on the birth ball with dd on my or dh's shoulder was a surefire way to get a burp out in the first couple of months. I had forgotten about that! We'll have to find it and blow it up.

Oh, and I would love a nursing stool, too. We have this rocking ottoman that goes with the rocking chair, but it was not helpful. I need something stable and lower to the ground.

Since I am new to this . . . Why is a nursing stool helpful? Like over a rocker? I just don't get the "low to the ground" thing. Thanks!

1) Sling
2) Big bouncy pram style stroller
3) Arbonne baby oil (no petroleum or mineral oil, and it works wonders on meconium and other lovely things)

I loved my rocking chair for nursing, just not the ottoman that goes with it. I would have the baby on my lap on top of the Boppy and when I put my feet on the ottoman my knees would be way up. It put my thighs at a steep angle and the baby would slide into me and the chair would go all the way back. It just wasn't comfortable for me and I couldn't rock gently because the chair was tipped all the way back. I don't know if you can picture all that.

Well, I like it because my lap slopes a little too much towards my knees when I'm sitting in a regular chair, if that makes sense. So if you have a stool to raise your feet a little bit, you can kind of create a little crevice there for the baby and give your arms and back a rest.
