Why so many

If you've found a free diaper pattern that works for you, what would be a reason to purchase another diaper pattern?
I'm going back and forth on deciding. I know I'm going to get the DD trainer pattern, but I was thinking of getting the 3 for $20 deal. I currently have the following patterns. The free ottobre pattern, the free mamabird pattern and a pattern that I purchased, it's very similar to ottobre.

Well....I kind of like the fact that when I buy one, I'm helping a WAHM, but also, you just never know when you are gonna find that 'perfect' diaper...haha..

It's like clothes, why have more than one style of pants/shirts/skirts....and then again, I love sewing and then donating stuff to my friends that need them and can't sew and or afford the investment in fabrics/patterns.

After having just bought a 'chloetoes' diaper for it's cuteness and also as a reference, I'm almost sure that I will be making them in all the sizes for the new baby. They seem like they will be fast and have the fit I love! But I had to 'see' and test several patterns to really know what I wanted in a diaper to know the 'good ones' when I saw them.

Also, since I do sew for other moms that I know, and they might just LOVE a FB, or a Swaddlebees, or a 'Mamma Bird' or some other style I don't personally use, I like having the additional patterns.

But we're talking about a 'pattern' fanatic here. I have 4 file cabinets full of all types of patterns, all in their own folders, and I have the pattern covers in book binders so I can flip through them like you would at a fabric store (yes, I went Martha Stewart on them WAY before I had kids....no time for such time consuming project like that now! ). But it does make it faster and easier to find what I want!

So for me, it's the quest for the 'perfect' diaper, the helping out others factor, and the pattern 'collector' in me.

But if you find one that works, (especially if it's free) use it! I just keep finding ones that seem to work a 'bit' better and want to make sure I have a copy if it's truely a better diaper...

I also try to buy a few of the diapers offered by the moms that also offer free patterns. But I had my own business for years and really appreciate the work involved, and love helping other women have their own business!

Also, you said in the other thread you'd like to see the 'Swaddlebees' style diaper. Did you want to see a pic of one (homestyle diaper) made or see an actual pattern up close and personal... PM me. I'm tracing a few more today for personal use...if you were actually interested.

Ok, that's my personal reasons for being a pattern freak/hound/collector....It's still cheaper than buying a bunch of pre-made diapers in different fabrics...this way I can play with fabrics once I have the pattern!

I also love the Chloetoes pattern!! Way easy. Alot of the free patterns I tried were not quite what I wanted.
