Does anyone want to track their September food spending together?

I keep meaning to track my food spending for a month, but never do it. So, maybe if a bunch of us do it together it will motivate me. I'm not going to try to do anything special, just follow my usually sales. I am going to try to not overbuy, meaning use my pantry. But I will stock up on good deals and such. I will also keep track of eating out costs.

Anyone else curious to find out what they really spend on food?

YES! Count me in. Are we tallying total grocery store expenditures, or food only? I only use one CC to shop (5x rewards), so that part would be easy. Or food alone this time?

I'm in. Next month I really need to lower our grocery bill. Or course this month we've been eating mostly from the stockpiles but I have plenty to go another month I think.

I'm in too. I have been wanting to do this to. I really want to limit my spending in September so maybe this will motivate me.

I'm going to do just food, but you could do whatever you need to know. It will just be nice to have somewhere to list it and keep track and be accountable.

I'm in. We are just starting our first real budget (and beginning Dave Ramsey's plan) so I'll be really watching my food spending!:

I'm in...and I'm gonna track DH too, he's in serious denial over how much $$ he spends on "eating out"

I'm in, too! I've been trying to keep our bill at $300 for 2 adults and 2 little ones. The last 2 months have had birthday and graduation parties to buy food for, so that went out the window.

We're in Ohio, btw. I'm interested to see the price differences from one area to another.

I started tracking since the 15th of this month. We've had a budget but haven't stuck to it or monitored it. It's $500/month. My youngest DD and I eat constantly, but being a vegetarian, at least I save that way.

I'm definitely in for Sept!

I'm all for it! My husband just loaded Microsoft Money onto our computer, so hopefully that will help us tracking our food spending.

I'm on Ohio, too. Let's put our state or location in our posts if it's not in your user name so people can compare place to place.

I'm in. I also have microsoft money that I normally use but had to get my laptop serviced and haven't done it in 3 months. Also have had extra mouths to feed all summer. September is perfect to get back on track!

Can I join even if some of my food money comes from food stamps? $440 a month for a family of 5 should be enough but we're eating a lot of drive-through meals (I'm exhausted from being pregnant with 3 kids) and pizza and convenience food and I'm hoping to motivate myself to make more meals at home. Right now I think I'm spending close to $200 on extra food.

Everyone is welcome . The purpose of this thread is to hlep everyone track their food spending for one month. We all have different budgets, eating habits, allergies, diets, etc. This thread is just to keep each of on track for our own knowledge. Does that sound good to everyone?
