toddler shoes?

DS is 14mo and has been walking since about 11mo. For atleast the last month or so he has been running around. Very stable, except when tired. He is climbing up and down hills with ease, and we caught him yesterday walking backwards.

My question is regarding shoes.

Up until now all he has worn is Robeez. In the house, he goes barefoot. Now that he is SO active, I am concerned that the leather sole just isn't enough protection for him.

What soft shoes with a "real" sole do you recommend?? I have seen Pedoodles mentioned - jsut wondering if there are others, and which brands are preferred....

Thanks!

Well, at two we still mostly use soft shoes. We do have a few pairs with more sole:

wiggees
pedoodles
pedipeds

I also like (though don't have any) see kai run, though those are stiffer than I'd put on a 14mo.

We used Robeez almost exclusively for a long time! A bit of some called Jack & Lily as well, they had cute chenille furry parts on them. Satori started walking at 11 mos also and we probably used them up until 18 months.

We moved to Colorado and have a lot of gravel on our driveway now, and do alot of hiking, so we switched to harder sole shoes. She can get them on and off herself, but has fun doing it and now just *loves* shoes.

She's 22 mos now and we use mostly See Kai Run for the past few months, they seem to be her favorite. We've tried pedipeds, Pipsqeaks (annoying!) and just last weekend bought a pair of tennis shoes that light up. Just got a pair of Eccos that seem to be promising. We also tried "Cute Baby Shoes" in a fancy brocade style, but never got any use out of them unfortunately.

My kids have a pair of Cheeky Little Soles each, they are just like Robeez but have a slightly padded sole.
Other than that, Target here has some nice & cute little leather shoes & boots, that have very flexible soles in baby/toddler sizes. Unfortunately my kids are too big for them now, and we are in nowhere no good shoes land (at least I am yet to find some that I really like in every sense).
My kids wear their CLS's everywhere, they don't ever seem to care what the surface is like, unless it's wet really.

I think the season made a difference. DS started walking at 9 months, which was in August so he did Robeez or Pedoodles. When the weather got colder to walk outside I did start buying other shoes...See Kai Run and Livie and Luca are the most flexible, but run wide. During the winter it wasn't an issue since I could use thick socks, but in the summer, they are just too wide. At that age, we had some Naturino and Primigi shoes and See Kai Run. Robeez or barefoot inside.

Thanks! I will check those out.

SomedayMom, you brought up a good point about the seasons. We live in the north, so I do want shoes that will hold up to rain and the occasional walk in the snow....
