Would suedecloth work for wipes?

Just want some opinions on this before I go through the trouble of making the wipes...

Do you think suedecloth would work for wipes? The stuff I have is more like a microsuede. I have med. weight cotton flannel and/or cotton terry to put on the other side. DS is EBF, and I plan to keep it that way for another couple of months, then will gradually introduce solids.

Hmmmm, not sure I'd use it, however, it might work awesome on those BF runny poos.

I'd cut one square of it first, wash/dry it, get it wet and try wiping with it. Then wash and dry again to see how well it holds up.

I made some hemp/cotton jersey wipes and put a layer of microfleece chamois on one side and LOVE it for those 'especially messy' clean ups. It 'grabs' everything really well, and washes and drys great and is buttery soft when wet.

I think it depends on what your 'suedecloth' is actually made of and how thick it is. Definitely don't make up a 'stash' until you've tried one out first!

My poor, cheap, one layer flannel wipes were pretty much shot after 4 years of continuous use, so I've been playing with making up a new stash myself, good luck with that! It's so nice to have fresh, soft ones to use!!

i'd personally prefer something with a little more grab, like a loop terry but i guess it depends on how plush this suedecloth is!

Good idea - cut out one square and see how that works... I've already pre-washed it & everything, and it didn't feel bad when it was wet.

I HATE wasting cloth, so I always obsess about everything I make before I do it!

If the suedecloth doesn't work for the wipes, I'm thinking it will be great as an inner lining for purses/handbags. I've got several that I started long ago & still haven't finished! :
