Morning breath...does that mean cavities?

My dd is 27 mos. and I'm suddenly noticing morning breath. I'm worried about bacteria and cavities. She's pretty good about letting us brush her teeth but we're still using up the "training toothpaste" (oral B, wasn't my first choice but hubby liked it and he does the brunt of the tooth brushing with her). I'm wondering if it's time for something better. I think I've got a tube of the Burt's Bees orange toothpaste but she's not too keen on the flavor. I grabbed a Tom's of Maine strawberry flavor today but noticed later that it has flouride. I'm not really sure why flouride should be avoided but am aware that there's a controversy. Any thoughts, suggestions or info? Thanks.

Too much flouride can cause problems, but you would have to ingest so much of it, its crazy. The amount of flouride in regular toothpaste is safe.
Morning breath does not equal cavities. Does she sleep with her mouth open? That could be why. Try brushing her tongue to. Lot of people forget that, but bad breath can be caused by the build up on your tongue to.
