Dominic had been having projectale vomiting, coming out his nose etc, and not really eating for a couple of days. Long story short, he had pyloric stenosis. Its the muscle at the end of the stomach it swells and blocks the path to the intestine. He had surgery Tuesday to correct it. He came home yesterday and is doing so-so

My dh had this and had surgery at 6 weeks old. He now (at 35) has a teeny scar on his lower right side and one on his ankle from the i.v.

I'm so sorry momma! DD2 had really bad projectile vomiting and we were afraid she had the same thing. It was so scary, this must have been horrible for your family. I hope he is doing better soon.

How scary for you and your family! I know several adults who had the same condition as babes - fortunately the surgery to fix it now is so much less invasive than it was 30 years ago! So glad you are home again for recovery. I hope Dominic will be doing better soon!

How scary to have your baby undergo surgery! My ds1 had surgery when he was 2 yo . . . worst and scariest day of my life. I'm glad Dominic is doing okay, and hope he recovers quickly.

PS runs in my family. My cousin had it. It takes a few days for them to get back into the groove of things, according to my aunt, but he was right back nursing like a champ within 3 days.

The first few days are rough because they are in pain, but then once the pain of swallowing and eating goes away, it's smooth sailing.

Thanks he's starting to do better today. They told me that its mostly genitic, but dh and I had never heard of it and neither had our mothers. So who knows.
