It doesn't make sense to me to vax for varicella (or anything else for that matter) soon after birth, especially if the mother is breastfeeding, but are there any articles or research done on this as to why you shouldn't?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I don't get why they are doing it PERIOD since MOST woman of child bearing age right now should have had the chicken pox as children. Of course there are the few that escaped it, but no more than those that escaped it since the begining of time.

Is this a universal thing, or are they testing for it like with rubella?

The person I am referring to has never had CP - she didn't say she wasn't immune, just that she's never had it. I don't think it's normally a routine thing unless you've never had CP.
