Felting

After many searches through rumage sales and thrift shops, I now have a growing collection of wool sweaters. I want to felt/full ? them and use the felt to make a stuffed teddy bear and a lamb for my DS. I may make a few for gifts. My question is, Is the felting/fulling process the same for this as it would be for soakers? Should I take care to do something extra?

I've never done soakers before, but I can say that felting/fulling for crafts is pretty minimalist -- throw in washer with a little soap, set the dial to hot wash/cool rinse, and voila! Since you're not aiming for a particular size on the finished item, it's pretty forgiving.

I imagine some of the sweaters will felt at different rates -- some may take more than one trip through the agitation.

I'm glad you mentioned this -- I'm going to go look at *my* thriftshop collection for something to use for Easter bunnies.

BTW, I thought I was the only person who called it fulling! Glad to see someone else knows what the term means.
