family history of ms?

our girls aunt has ms, would that make zoe more likely to have an auto-immune reaction to immunizations? she did get the hep b shot when she was born before i started questioning what i was letting them put into our daughter and now i'm hoping it didnt do anything that will show up later.

we're going to our 15 month wellbaby checkup in a week or two and i want to have all of my reasons for not vaxing crystal clear and preferably printed out for our dr so he wont keep trying to badger us into getting the shots our choices are very limited as we are on medicaid and there arent any other places accepting new patients in our area so we have to do what we can with what we've got! at least this one doesnt throw antibiotics at every sniffle and lecture me for still bfing!

Pa. offers exemptions.
You can print out all the package inserts and highlight the parts that concern you, but be prepared for your doctor to lie and continue to badger you.

http://www.vaccinesafety.edu/thi-table.htm This link gives you all the package inserts, just click on them.

First off, I wanted to mention that a lot of us don't do well baby checks unless they are needed. My 4 year old has only been to one well baby check in her life.

Autoimmune diseases run in my family (even way back when 80+ years ago) so vac scare the crap out of me. I just wouldn't risk it if I were you. Would you rather your child had mumps or an autoimmune disease? I'll take mumps or chickenpox or even the small risk of tetanus thanks.

If you don't want to be badgered, the very best way to avoid it is to simply say, "we're not doing it today" and then move on. Don't even discuss it. It's more common for a doc to ask you why and then try to discount your research than one who will say, "ok." and go on to the next issue at your visit. For alot of us, it's hard to do but it does get easier the more you do it

Autoimmune disorders run in my family also. Your babe won't develop MS just because her aunt has it, but because her aunt has an autoimmune disorder then Zoe is more likely to develop some type of autoimmune disorder than a child who has no family history. That is my understanding, anyway.
