My friend has the Urban Mtn buggy (double one)... I have the biggest case of stroller envy ever they run close to $700.00 but they are the best thing I have tried I used hers once at the park it was light under 50 lbs. you could turn it with just your wrist no fighting it turned on a dime this is the best stroller if I could talk DH into just one more this would be my choice and my jeep sbs is looking pretty much worn out so I'm wishing for this don't think I'll get it but it's too hard to sling my kids now they are both over 30 lbs

I only have a single but LOVE my BOB Revolution stroller. They do make a double jogger of the Revolution, called the duallie.

http://www.bobtrailers.com/strollers...ionduallie.php

The BOB Revolution is light and easy to push and it is comfy for the kids and is super easy to fold. I can even fold mine and put it in the trunk of my camry with one hand. When I got it, I sold my peg perego because the bob revolution is so much easier to use. If I had two little ones, this is what I would get. Here are the features:

FEATURES
  • Quick-release polymer wheels and easy-folding design improve portability
  • Suspension system capable of three inches' travel minimizes bouncing/vibrations
  • Independent reclining Seats
  • High-quality materials improve strength while reducing weight
  • Swiveling Front Wheel for unmatched maneuverability
  • Lockout mode with adjustable tracking for easy conversion to Jogging
  • Padded shoulder harness to add to your child's safety and comfort
  • Independently adjustable canopy
  • 2006 Duallies were redesigned to fit through most doorways; total width 30.8"
  • It weighs 31.7 lbs

I got mine at REI. The swiveling front wheel is AWESOME. And it locks in case you ever don't want it to swivel. People with regular jogger look at mine in awe. It is sooo easy to use.

I am LOVING my jogger because even though it is a double, it folds totally flat and is absurdley easy to fold. (Pick up the 2 straps on the seats that say "fold" and voila!)

I have friends who have the BOB and are very happy with that 2.

There is a website called www.joggingstroller.com, which compares most of them and was really helpful to me in making my choice. It also gives reader reviews which are totally helpful, because then you hear from mamas using them in everyday life.

but can you use a jogging stroller for babies under 6 months or not?

please help, we do not have much $$$ to spend, but we want a good one.

We just got the Baby Jogger City Series Double Stroller

what features do you love? I love the the craftsmanship, it's extremely well built. It accomodates both older children and younger children alike which I love. It is much less wide than the traditional jogging stroller so I'm able to use it to run errands, go to the library, that kind of thing. It's extremely attractive and the front wheels swivel which makes it awesome to maneuver. Oh and they can be easily switched to a non-swivel mode for jogging!

what features do you hate? It doesn't fold very small, meaning it takes up all the room in the trunk of our Ford Taurus wagon. It's smaller than traditoinal jogging strollers but still pretty huge, so storing it in our smallish home is a nuisance...right now it's just sitting in our family room.

IS IT TRUE THAT YOU CAN NOT PUT A BABY UNDER 6 MONTHS OLD IN ONE????
You can if you recline the seat all the way back and place a supportive cushion in there. I'm not sure I would jog with an infant in there but for regular walks, it would be perfectly fine.

what brand? Baby Jogger!

where did you buy it? The babybecause website...free shipping!

CAN YOU FIT IT IN THE TRUNK OF A FORD FOCUS??? Not sure? Possibly.

Hope that helps...good luck!!

You can't jog with a baby under 6mos. They may not have the head control to handle the bouncing around that a jog would subject them to.

That said, i have taken DD (3 mos) out for walks in our double jogger (a Kool Stride Lil' Deuce) a few times, on smooth pavement and walking at a normal pace.

For actual jogging, you want at least 16" fixed wheels. They will roll smoother, providing less resistance.

Your best bets at Target would be:
tike Tech
Instep Run Around but it might not roll as nicely, due to the smaller front wheel
Or
Instep Ultra Runner

My single is an Instep, and it's really not bad. I mean, yes, a BOB is nicer but for the budget-minded the Instep is a great choice for a fraction of the price.

If you really need it to fit in the back of a Ford Focus, ask the salespeople if you can try it in the back of the car before you buy it. -They will do this at Babies R Us, maybe you can do it there and buy at Target? I have a car too and I found that very few single jogging strollers would fit, so I can only imagine doubles would be worse. I did find the single Baby Jogger and Bob Revolution fold down flat enough to fit in a car trunk. -I decided on the Bob which I got at REI (not cheap but it fits). I bought a Baby Jogger off Craigslist to keep at my dad's house and I think I might like that better for actual jogging.

Can you try Craigslist?

Another tip: try and find one with removable rear wheels. Our jogger fits great in the trunk because it sits flat with the wheels off.

If you plan on doing a lot of running, you need something with a fixed wheel in front, preferably a 16" wheel. This will give you a lot of stability, but limits how much you can maneuver in small spaces and makes shopping with it pretty tough. Also, it is true that you should not run or jog with a baby under six months as they don't have enough neck strength or stability to take the bumping around. However, you can certainly walk with your young babe in a jogger if the seat reclines enough to provide proper support.

I suggest checking out www.joggingstroller.com. Even if you don't buy a stroller there, they have a wide variety of strollers with extensive information on all and user reviews on many of them.

If your search leads you to a Dreamer Design, Schwinn, Mountain Buggy or Baby Jogger, please feel free to PM me. I'd be happy to share my personal experience. I will say that if your daughter is tall, the Mountain Buggies may not work well for you. They seem to be shorter than other strollers, though they drive like a dream!

Happy Shopping!

I agree with the PP about the greatness of the Bob jogging strollers; I've never had one but tried one out at my local triathlon store--wow!

I didn't have much money to spend and a running mom in my neighborhood told me to check out the babyjogger web site for reconditioned double joggers. They don't always have them but when they do they're much cheaper than retail--mine was something like $200 including shipping. The only drawback for you is that I'm not sure if they fit in your trunk and as a PP said they are not as maneuverable as strollers that are not true joggers.

There are strollers with biggish wheels marketed as jogging strollers and sold at department stores and other mass-market places. Be careful about these because they don't always have the features to absorb shock and make actual running comfortable. A neighbor of mine bought one and she never could use it for running--her kids were too uncomfortable. ITA with the PP about the larger size wheels; they make a major difference for comfort and smoothness of ride.

Good luck and I salute your vigor for running with two. I did it for a couple of years--until my big boy's legs were hanging onto the ground!--and loved it. I thought I was superwoman until my friend (the one who recommended the web site) had her third and started running with a triple jogger.

I have to agree with the suggestion for the BOB duallie. It is worth every penny I had to shell out for it. It handles better than my single babyjogger, and is so incredibly easyn to fold up aand stick in the trunk. Also, talk to a doctor about when a baby is ready for jogging. Since it is really about head control, all babies develop at different rates. Some babies will have enough head control at three mos, and some not until eight, so it is far better to tune into the reason behind the rule than the rule itself IYKWIM. They also have prety good resale value if you can't find one used.

sorry for typos, nak

BOB dualle sport lover Maybe you can look on Craigslist we bought ours 3 years ago for 400 at REI ouch, but it's been SOOOOO worth it. Even ds at 5.5 can still fit if he doens't want to walk, it has shocks nice canopy, folds well, wheels come off which means it can store so many more places. It handles well, both seat recline, it's really a great stroller.

Phil and Ted's E3

It's the best. Narrow, you can put a baby younger than 6 months in it, and it fits in the truck of our Honda Civic.

Just make sure you buy the attachemtn that makes it a double instead of a single. You can find it at the jooging stroller website mentioned above.

Schwinn Sc506 Single Jogging Stroller Swivel Front

Anyone have any experience with one of these? I've been researching & researching. I'd love a Bob Revolution, but its a tad pricey. I need something with a swivel front wheel for manouverability, but with shocks for a smooth ride. This one seems more in our price range. The problem is that I've never seen one in person, and I probably wont before I buy one. Walmart.com has them. The reviews I've read seem favourable.

I live in Canada, and I cant find one here - online or in person. In a few weeks we're planning a trip to Minneapolis & I will hopefully check them out in person there.

Any of you seen one/used one?
Thanks!!
Pam

I've seen them and they look so much easier to maneuver than the regular doubles. Do you run with yours?
