I soooo wanted to do titers, but my insurance wont cover them and I dont have the moola to pay out of pocket. However, my ped would be fine with it if I could afford it.
I have always wondered if my kids actually need the additional vax. I forget where I read it, but I remember an article on the vaccines and how like 80% of kids develop immunity with the first shot and dont need the additional shots.

That really depends on which vaccine you're talking about. With DTaP, less than 80% are immune to pertussis after 3 shots, but over 90% are immune to tetanus after 2. Over 90% are immune to polio after 2 doses of IPV. MMR might be the one you're thinking of.

Maternal Immunity?

Sorry if my question is irrelevant - I am a mom of a 23 week old, non-vaxxed so far, and my head is absolutely spinning with arguments from both sides! My question is, does anyone know of any studies on babies not needing vax from being breastfed for certain periods of time? I've *heard* of babies being covered up to age 5 if breastfed for 6 months, lifetime if breastfed for 2 years, but I don't know how true it is, and I'm having a hard time finding any kind of research or articles or anything that say anything like that... I heard it from a friend's sister, so it might just be wishful thinking on my part! We're still exclusively breastfeeding, so I feel like my sweetie is getting pretty good immunity, but pertussis season TERRIFIES me! I want to make sure she's as protected as possible! Just looking for some peace of mind.
