How much sleep are you getting at night?
With my first baby I was a walking zombie for at least the first 4 months...4 hours on a good night, and I could never nap. I've always had a horrible time falling asleep during the day no matter how tired I am.
With #2, he had colic (from 11am-10pm usually, ugh), but slept well at night, and I got 6-8 hours each night.
Amazingly, most nights I'm getting 8-9 hours I think, sometimes changing a diaper once in the a.m. and nursing once or twice briefly. I am SOOOOO spoiled. Good boy Nate!

It varies from night to night, depending on how the baby decides to sleep. I'd say an average of 6 hours.

4-6 totally broken up and that's dh taking the first night feed and then only giving me one baby after that

I get 6 to 8 hours, but in 2 hour chunks.

I tend to go to bed around 9.30 at the moment when Ollie first goes down,he wakes between 2-3 hours later and then fusses and farts like a good 'un for 2 and a half hours ,goes back to sleep wakes me an hour or so later and and my other kiddies get up between 6 and 7 : so i probably get 4-6 hours all told

I voted for 6-8 but it's not all at once. I still sleep out on the recliner end of the couch with babe. We zonk out at about 11pm then he wakes up about 3 times to nurse. Whatever side he's on I flip him to the other, readjust our pillows, latch him on and we both just nurse back to sleep. We get up about 7am ish. About every couple days he has cranky nites and cries for 3-4 hours, won't nurse, etc.

We just had one of those nights last night. It often coincides with the evenimgs when my husband is working. He grunts and quirms and seems gassy, whereas most nights he sleeps like a log. I wonder if/how stress changes the composition of breastmilk, or if the 1-3 hours spent downstairs with Dada after I go to bed is somehow a magical sleep potion.

I'm so spoiled this time. Sean sleeps a 4 hour chunk when we first go to bed. Then he is up every 1.5 to 2 hours after that. Those first 4 hours are bliss. I feel very well rested during the day. One night he slept for 5.5 hrs. I kept waking up and making sure he was still breathing. He made me so nervous.

With only 3 nights to comment on average is 2-3. That is more me than her though. She has been sleeping at night for a good 4 hour stretch when my hubby takes her out of the room since she nurses all day and then he sleeps during the day. But I am too anxious and sore to really sleep, even when she is. :-(

I put 4-6 but it is broken up. Kienan also has the gassy uo most of the night every few days and now we are battling a yeast rash sigh poor little guy

I'm sleeping way better than I was in my last months of pregnancy, that's for sure!

I generally hop in bed around 10 and Luna Blue wakes up 3-4 times during the night and we get up around 7 or 8. Except for 2 nights when she was a bit fussy for 45 minutes or so, she mostly just latches up for milkies and we both go back to sleep.

So far I've been really, really lucky. I am co-sleeping with both of the girls and have to do it all myself-- but I'm still getting 8-10 hours of sleep (in chunks). Last night Eloise and I went to bed at 11:30, since her alert period is about 9:00-11:00 each night. We didn't get out of bed until almost 10:00 this morning! Phew!
Eloise is a very sleepy baby so far. I am sure this will end fairly soon, but I am enjoying the rest while I can get it. Luckily her big sister gets about 12 hours of sleep a night still and rarely awakes during the night.

I'm sure I'll be looking back on these days fondly when I'm awake all night with a screaming babe!

Right now, usually somewhere between 3-5 hours a night. I've started pumping, & dh takes 1 feeding at night. That has really helped - I just don't operate well with less than 3 hours straight. I can do it, but it sure isn't pretty

I can't even say it out loud how much sleep I am getting...but it's gooooood, real good.

:

Patience is the sleepiest baby I've ever had and I am in shock!!!!!!

Last night she went down at 8...woke at midnight to eat but only meant rolling over and throwing a boob in her mouth...same thing at 4:30 and up at 8 a.m., only because my other two were up and wanted breakfast.

Can ytou believe that?!?!?!?!?!

(p.s. for the record, I paid my dues with my first two babies ...trust me, I EARNED this!!!!)

I have been getting chunks of 2 2 1/2 hours. And get about 7 hours of sleep, but goodness it doesn't feel like it. I could use a night with a nice 3-3 1/2 hour stretch in there, but my big boy is a hungry guy and doesn't like side lying to nurse. It's hard functioning!

I'm in the 2-3 hours at a time club. The hardest part is getting used to a squirmy baby next to me. Sometimes, dd is happy, just squirmy, and I would give anything to be able to sleep through that. And I'm hoping to get the hang of side nursing soon...and maybe the ability to sleep through that too!

That's how I feel too.
Last night I went to bed at 8:45pm and got woken up by A.J. at 6:45am. :
I only remember feeding Nate twice. Of course if I want to roll over I move him to my other side, but I hardly wake up for that either.

Maybe by the 3rd you just get really used to sleeping thru everything...I don't even wake up for the grunting and cooing - on occasion i have woken up on my own and looked over to find a happy but noisy AWAKE baby next to me...she just chills.
