Minimum dose of Inositol to help depression?

I know it's reccommended 12g of Inositol to help, but have any of you found relief from a smaller dose? I ask because the only stuff I can find locally is a bottle of 60 tablets of 500mg each. So, that would be 24 pills a day, and going through a bottle in only three days. At $12, that's not an option. And I do plan on ordering some online, but I want to see how long I can make this bottle last (while still helping, of course).

So, what dose are you taking?

(Also, is there a maximum amount of choline you can take, as this as it in there? I know Inositol is pretty safe even in very large amounts, but what about choline?)

I just started taking Inositol recently and found the powder on-line pretty cheap (there's a post with the web address listed in that thread). I take 3 tbsp and have noticed a HUGE difference (since I stopped drinking coffee~I read that coffee kills the Inositol).
