The two scariest things about vaccines are the adjuvants and the live viruses.
Live vaccines like MMR don't have adjuvants. So there's nothing to worry about there. There aren't really a lot of crazy fillers in the live vaccines, either, that I know of. So the trauma of getting extra shots is the only real reason why I'd go with the combo shot.
Even if you did it for the wrong reason, you went with what most of us would consider the safer option.
It's a totally different story from "dead" shots, like the DTaP, which are adjuvanted with aluminum and have all kinds of icky stuff in them. I wouldn't want to split any of those up.
