Soap scent overload!!!! The FUMES

I just scented and colored an INSANE amount of vegetable glycerin soap base!

I made scents like
Lavender Vanilla
Lavender Roses
Stress Relief
Eucalyptus, Juniper, Rosemary blend
Plain vanilla
Honey Almond

phew...I think that was it. I made MANY of each and used herbs to color them.

I feel dizzy from the essential oils and I don't want to smell another scent for a week!
:LOL

just had to vent....

DD spilled lavender FO on our living room floor. We aren't sure how she got the FO or even got it opened but it went everywhere....

We are so tired of smelling lavender we are about ready to spill a nice accompanying scent to go with it...

Sounds yummy, LaLa!

Abi, LOL! Yikes!

I made soap, too - I have a new scent from Sweetcakes called "Midnight in Tunisia" that smells great! Kinda floral but mysterious, too. And Grapefruit, and Cucumber-Melon, and Oatmeal-Milk-Honey, and Green Tea, and I made my own Chai Tea soap, which smells heavenly!

I'm not quite sure WHAT exactly my apartment smells like, though, with all these different scents, LOL! Kinda nuts!

And LaLa, I am seriously considering trying that company you recommended. I think I'd have to buy 215 lbs of soap for the minimum, though! I may be to San Fran this summer after my babe is born, it's about 5 hours from my mom's house. Do you know if you have to have a wholesale number? Cause I don't Anyway, thanks for the tip!

Chan has ordered from them in the past, so she would know for certain, but I don't think she had to have a resale number.

I just made MORE soap and I'm making more in a bit!

The last batch was inspired by madision! Yummy chai tea soap!
It smells so good!!!
It probably tastes good with all the yummies I put in it!
:LOL

Vanilla Mocha Coffee Soap is next on my list!

I have about 60 bars sitting there made already, plus the 40 more I'm making tonight! I'm not looking forward to wrapping them all...any new packaging ideas ladies?

Oh, see now you've inspired ME, LaLa. I may have to make a Vanilla Coffee soap - I'm always reluctant to use my vanilla because it discolors, but since the coffee soap is ALREADY brown.... hey! Why didn't I think of that? (And the answer IS - pregnancy brain!). I really like coffee soaps for the kitchen

Wrapping 100 bars? Have fun, lol! I have about 2 dozen and I'm dreading it. I am still fiddling around with my labels, trying to find what I like and what is quick to do... two very different things so far, haha. I LIKE hand painting my labels, but it takes too long when I have a ton to do, you know? And I can't find any stinkin' shrink wrap lately at any craft stores. That's frustrating! I want to give soap as party gifts at the blessingway this weekend, so I NEED labeled completely gift-ready soaps! Luckily I took tomorrow off from work to get all my miscellaneous stuff done. Do you use shrink wrap, LaLa? I just shrink it with my hair dryer and it works great, and keeps the scent safe. Now I'm playing with a brown wrap and white round labels. If I can figure out how to post a picture, I'll post one up. I'd love to see what you and Chan do.

Hey Abi, do you label your soaps? What do you do? Enquiring minds want to know!

Abi does CP and HP soaps so she doesn't have to shrink wrap them!
lucky girl!
teehee...

I have used saran wrap in the past and then made decorative paper or cloth labels to wrap around, and sometimes just sticker labels on teh bottom (because I use pretty molds and don't want to cover up the designs.)

I have seen someone else use small plastic bags that are clear (cello bags?) and she just ties a pretty ribbon to close it and puts a sticker or tag label on each one. That would be pretty easy!

It looked cute too!

Sometimes I give soap inside of contianers as gifts and then teh containers are re-usable. For example, if I am giving a gift of chai soap, I may give it with a coffee cup and a glass container of chai tea and maybe a glass or tupperware container of soap too

I like to do that kind of thing and it's easy that way. Tupperware is simple enough because I can pour it into the tupperware then when it is cool, cut it and put it back in!

I have also done waxed paper with ties at each end and a sticker label. That was kind of pretty.

I guess that is about all I've tried.

Yeah, I'm not sure when I'll get all of this stuff labeled?! EEK!

erm..I dont label them..I am not selling my soaps..heh I just kind of wrap them up with whatever I have laying around.. I just use them for swaps and gifts....

Brambleberry has a great scent called Arabian Spice. LaLa,I might have sent you a bar..it discolors brown..it smells FANTASTIC!! Just like chai tea...yum...

I use sterlite boxes for molds..they are about $1 and work pretty well...

I haven't made any HP for awhile..CP just turns out so much better!! if I mess up a cp batch though I rebatch it...

I am feeling envious. My family doesn't like scents, so I milled my first batch of soap with wheat germ and honey. My daughter told my son it was "squirrel vomit" so now everyone refuses to wash their hands. I am going back to Johnson and Johnson's "Super Sudser" until the next batch is ready.
