Someone tell me this is normal, please. Long

Last Monday I was flossing and a amalgram filling chipped. It didn't give me any pain but I was concerned so I went to the dentist. She said because it was a deep filling she wanted to replace it, I said okay. So she replaced it with a composite filling. Well, the next day I stared having jaw pain but assumed it was from the drilling. The day after that my tooth started hurting but, not the tooth that was filled the tooth next to it.: How is this possible? So, today I saw my dentist and she took 2 x-rays and said she has no idea what's going on, she doesn't see an absess, although my symptoms are compariable to an absess. She did grind down my tooth a bit, she said with the new filling it may have made my bite off. She want's to see me thursday to see if there's improvment. She also gave me an prescription for abx and ibuprofen. She said I may need a root canal in the tooth that was fixed, I'm like that's not the tooth bothering me it's the one next to it. She's like I don't know we'll see how the meds help. Is this normal? My teeth have always been very sensitive, is it possible that this tooth is aching from the work that was done from the tooth next to it? Thanks for letting me rant!

I would give it a little time, the last time I had a filling it took awhile for my mouth to feel normal again. But of course it was just a normal new filling. If you start feeling worse I would call your dentist again.
