HELP - sewing machine

I'm trying to make some recyled wool longies for my daughter and borrowed friend's sewing machine. I have NO idea how to use it and I m wondering if there is a place on-line to download instructions (it's Brother). I don't think it has the right foot becuse the needles keep breaking but I don't know what kind to go get. This is very frustrating. Thanks.

Google the name of the machine, including model number and "manual" and you should be able to find a user manual. Did you friend show you how to use it?
Have you oiled and dusted it, if it hasn't been used in a while?
Make sure there are no spare thread in the bobbin holder.
Check the tension.
Try sewing on regular cloth, not wool, and see if that helps.
Rethread.

Thanks! Problem solved - I went and bought my own, instruction manual included. Her's is old, and without instructions, seems unusable to me. I saved myself a lot of frustration by going and getting a simple one (A Singer Simple, to be exact!)

Thanks!
